Looking Glass Dolls & Creations was launched in 2014. Since I was a teenager, I’ve always had a creative flair and enjoyed sketching. Over the years I have sewn extensively, done loads of needlework and enjoyed designing and making quilts. I’ve grown to love making handmade heirlooms and collectibles.
My first dolls were created over 30 years ago for my nieces. Even back then, each of the dolls was customized and unique. My interest was further piqued a few years ago when I came across sculpted cloth dolls online. I loved the idea of designing and sculpting one of a kind dolls in this media. After honing my techniques, I started to create my “ladies” who each have a very unique style of their own. It is a joy to create these one-of-a-kind, handmade creations and seeing them take on their own personality as they are being made. As each doll is a custom made and a one of a kind creation, no two are ever the same.
Collectors love adding these dolls to their collections and caring adults enjoy seeing the joy on the faces of young ones who receive the dolls as heirloom gifts knowing that the dolls will be handed down from generation to generation. Each doll is signed by myself as the designer/doll maker, is numbered, dated and bears the name of the doll. My hope is that each person enjoys the creation they have selected as much as I have enjoyed making it.
As each doll has a hand painted face and may have accessories or small parts that may not be suitable for children, they should not be purchased for a child to play with. See disclaimer.
My “Zoo Folk Softie Collection” of stuffed animal toys are always fun to create too. They are a soft stuffed animal toy with no small parts, so they are a great as a toy for children (see disclaimer). Because my Zoo Folks are handmade collectibles, adults love to add them to their home décor collection. Each Zoo Folk Softie is signed by myself as the doll maker, numbered, and dated.
